Seatown Story Collective gets ready for Class 2
we're off and running, our throughlines are looking up
Greetings Seatown students and families!
Last Saturday’s kickoff class was such an inspiring launch to our program. THANK YOU to the family who brought donuts to share!! TED talk fuel is always warmly welcomed. 🍩 After seeing our Cohort 1 crew gathered together in person and hearing your throughlines so bravely shared, we are more excited than ever to see all of your brilliant TEDxBallardYouth talks come to life this spring.
If you’re looking for a recap of last week’s lessons, never fear. Our Google Drive folder is always easy to find at tinyurl.com/SeatownStoryCollective. There you’ll find a folder for each student and a CLASS RESOURCES folder were you can review our slides and handouts every week.
👉🏿👉🏼👉🏾ACTION STEP REMINDER: Before class 2 tomorrow at 9:00 AM, please upload your revised TEDx talk pitch to your student folder. Aim to keep pitches under 100 words, be specific in your stories and data, and challenge yourself to be able to explain your throughline in 15 words or fewer. As you polish your pitch, use these two questions as your north star:
What is your throughline?
Is your talk a “journey” or a “gift” - or is it both?
Also, bring a sack lunch tomorrow and if you haven’t already, be our friend on Instagram! We’re @SeatownStoryCollective.
See you all tomorrow bright and early! As always, class will be 9:00am - 12:00pm at UW’s Brooklyn Trail Building.
Grateful to be in community with all of you. 💚 Reach out for anything—SeatownStoryCollective@gmail.com.
Best,
Ms. Leong
