A couple weeks ago I did my best to crush down my imposter syndrome and social awkwardness and I returned to my favorite city of brisk-walkers and direct-talkers for Creative Capital’s 2023 Carnival.
The three-day NYC gathering brought together our cohort of Wild Futures awardees with patrons and curators to celebrate disruptive art, big plans, and curious cocktails.
One of the most surreal moments of the trip (there were a lot of them), was seeing The Family Court Report debuted at the Lower East Side’s beautiful Metrograph theater alongside 49 other groundbreaking projectsfocused on technology, performing arts, and literature.

Really awesome that I decided to take this mirror selfie before walking over to the Metrograph and spilling coffee on the front of my white shirt just one block away from the theater. I pretended I was in a Mentos commercial and took down my hair to (mostly) cover up the splash and kept it moving. June 22, 2203.
